Phage4Crops officially started
Welcome to the COST Action CA25147 Phage4Crops: Bacteriophages for crop protection: Discovery, Exploration, Application & Society!
On 13 October 2026, from 09:30 to 17:00, representatives from across Europe gathered in Brussels for the first Management Committee meeting of the Phage4Crops COST Action, marking the official start of our network.
With participation from 25 of the 32 COST Full or Cooperating Member countries, the meeting achieved quorum and established the foundations for the years ahead. Key outcomes included:
- Election of the Action Chair, Vice Chair, and leadership teams
- Approval of the Action structure and establishment of the Core Group
- Appointment of Working Group leaders and coordinators
- Discussions on the first Work and Budget Plan, grants, training schools, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities
- Initial planning for the “Hunt for Phages” Training School and the 1st Annual Conference
Phage4Crops brings together researchers, industry stakeholders, and other key actors committed to advancing the use of bacteriophages for sustainable crop protection and plant health.
